Let me catch you up to speed

So A has been sitting on the potty still. There hasn't been any great strides forward, but she is still open to the idea of using the potty, which is good. There was an incident early this evening, I was at work, thankfully, when A went to go sit on the pot she hollered to her mother who was in the kitchen that she had just done a good job. The wife runs in and finds the good job sitting on the floor. She is trying and that is the part you have to be proud of.

Another development today, I quit one of my jobs. I had tried my hand at being a part time sheriff's office dispatcher. I really didn't like the job. When you like something you can find time to do it, but when it is something you don't like it is damn hard to find time to do it. So for a short time I am down to two jobs. I soon will be teaching EMS, at the local community college. It is something that I do enjoy and it is double the money of any of my other jobs.

There it is, I should be posting some pictures of the girls soon. I also need to find out how to post videos, have some of Z laughing, laughing can you believe it.

Pee's and Zzz's

This is the most important announcement since December 1st 2008, the coming of Z.

Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, Children of all ages The Marble House proudly presents 2 of the most spectacular achievements that a 2 year old and 2 month old can accomplish.

Z has slept through the night 3 nights in a row (trumpets sounding). The wife appears to have a new found spring in her step. I haven't been home for that accomplishment but am bouncing off the walls as if I had been.

Last night A went into the bathroom, and gave her potty a good look. It has never been used as anything other than a step stool, but that was all gonna change. I asked if she would like to sit on the potty and she was open to the idea. So I lifted the lid and she sat down clothed. That night she had a sit down without pants. Once again today when I got up she was sitting in the ready position and quite content. While The Wife was doing dishes A just sat and we asked a few time if she had done anything. I was out of the room for a few seconds and heard thunderous applause. A had Pee'd. If you remember a previous post she has posters and stickers for just such an occasion.

For those of you wondering, yes I did take a picture of A sitting on the potty, but I am not going to post it. Embarrassment of that level should be saved for just the right occasion.

I told you I had pictures

She smiles its a miracle!

Get well soon Pappy!

Pappy has been under the weather as of late, the wife and A just went to see him. I figured this would be a good time to have a get well soon post. The only problem I am having with this, is the fact it is hard to get good pictures of the guy who is always behind the camera.

With Pappy recouping, we got a border for a few days. The 2 pound terror herself, Bitty. She is actually about 5 1/2 pounds, and not really a terror. Bitty was our dog, she went to live with Nana and Pappy when A started getting a little to rough with her, and they were in search of a little companion. Bitty left our house of 2 year old torture and dry kibble, back to her kozy home of peace, quiet and lunch meat.

We all hope you a speedy recovery Pappy!

Big pinch, hold still!

No one likes going to the doctor, and no one likes a shot. With all the scary things you hear about children's vaccinations, we have opted for a vaccination schedule that is a little more drawn out then normal. Poor Z will now have to endure 2 shots a month, until she is 6 months, rather than 4 to 5 shots every 2 months till she is 6 months.

The only issue we have with this is since she has had her first vaccinations, she isn't sleeping as well as she was before and is crankier than she has been. Z had been going up to 5 hours asleep at one time, now she is back to 2-3 hours. She is also having a hard time falling asleep.

The good news; the wife has a few pictures of Z smiling! The first emotion she has shown other than screaming. She finds A to be pretty funny. A was dancing her Mickey Mouse Doll in front of Z the other day, Z loved it. I hope to get a few of those pictures posted soon of her smiling, and just being cute.

Even my car hates the cold

Chilly, cool, nippy, not even cold describes it. I think D@#* cold is more like it. My car is even revolting against the weather, either that or the fact that it just became a teenager and doesn't want to listen to me anymore. With the onset of cold weather I found out there is a bug in my electrical system, everytime the temperature gets around 10 degrees or lower my battery goes dead. I have replaced the alternator, the battery (twice on the possibility the first one was bad), and tonight I went around pulling fuses out till I found out which one had a short.

I know what you are thinking, you are driving a 13 year old car, you are doing all that work on that old car, why don't you get a new car. Well let me tell you something that the wife has found out a long time ago, I am cheap! I want A and Z to both learn to drive in that old Jeep. Heck I would still be driving my 1984 VW Rabbit, if it wasn't for the fact that no woman would go near that vehicle. That was a fine vehicle it got about 40 something miles to the gallon. The Rabbit was a 4 speed, gears were labelled, 1,2,3, and E, I always fgured E was for economy, my Friend Mike always asked " we in E yet."

So tonight I found a fuse for a short somewhere in the rear defroster and another fuse, in a slot that is supposed to be open. This means that at some point someone has put a accessory in that I cant find and put a fuse in the box to work it. Well I pulled both fuses out so now if I need the rear window defroster I will just have to plug the fuse back in. Could I get it worked on yes , but I am cheap.

Have you seen my kids lately?

I know there a few my of faithful readers who get quite annoyed at my infrequent posts of baby pictures so I have a few new one to post, along with what is new at the Marble house.

A is still her normal fireball self, but is talking a blue streak. Speaking in compound sentences, and showing wit that is going to get her and I both in trouble when she gets older. The only thing that has me and her mother worried is her clumsiness. We are concerned that she might have a vision problem like her mother, but they say she is to young to test it. I am hear to tell you she runs into everything, mostly I think she is just extremely clumsy. I have seen her trip over mothers feet 3 times in 2 minutes.

Z is trying to be more pleasant. There was a long period that Z was either sleeping, or screaming. I know some of you are going to say, she is a baby and that is what they do. Well a few of her grandmothers were trying to talk us into seeing some kind of specialist, it was real bad. We did find the best formula for her, her stomach prefers the wal-mart brand formula, the similac and enfamil stuff tore her up. It is either that or she has heard how much this stuff costs and realizes things are tight all over and she is trying to help us save. Whatever it is she likes it and it is cheap, we can't complain. Now she is actually doing this thing were she has her eyes open and is not screaming. She was very strong from day one, she has always tried to lift her head but now she does it with no problem and looks around checking the joint out. By the way did I mention she was Chubby!

She is half as heavy as her big sister.

I just figured I would show you this picture, because it is the only time A has even looked like me and she had to be making my sleepy face, she already curls her hair when she is sleepy like i used too, used too.

A's is still trying to be little Momma, if she can't take care of Z she is at least gonna take care of one of her many baby dolls.
Well hopefully this helps you out with your fix of cute kids. I can't wait till the weather breaks maybe I can get some pictures of the girls outside.
